In Sweden, where the sun barely shows a ray during months of oppressive Artic dark and cold, the summer solstice is celebrated with abandon–and they’ve imported the celebrations to our shores. Crowns of flowers, music, snaps… and more than 3000 Swedes and Swede-wannabes were out during the gorgeous weather at the Midsummer Festival in Manhattan, sponsored by the Swedish Consulate in New York and the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy. Peterson’s thanks them both!
