After they were involved in a volatile, racially-charged incident, the President invited Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Cambridge, Mass., police Sgt. Joseph Crowley over to the White House to air the matter–over some cold ones.
“I noticed this has been called the ‘Beer Summit.'” Obama told reporters, “It’s a clever term, but this is not a summit, guys. This is three folks having a drink at the end of the day, and hopefully giving people an opportunity to listen to each other. And that’s really all it is.”*
Encouraging people to listen to each other… Peterson’s drinks to that.
