As I sit here in front of the computer on this hot and steamy New York City workday, updating my SIBA Award article, I am fondly reminded of my Southern Book Soujourn. Last fall, I got away from the screen and took in a sampling of the rich literary landscape in all it’s glory… the SIBA show in New Orleans, bookstores galore, catching up with author Julie Cantrell and her fellow Southern Belleview Daily bloggers… Ah…
So, maybe I’ll cook dinner from the signed copy of Pickles, Pigs and Whiskey I bought at Square Books, while listening to Susan Larson’s “The Reading Life”…
Afterwards, I’ll pick up one of the SIBA winners or nominees at one of my local New York City bookstores and read it with glass of sweet tea at my side. Maybe I’ll spike it with some bourbon...
.. and crank up the air conditioning to “11.”
